Travel can be exciting and amazing. I finish my work, and the next day, I am in South Africa in the middle of the night, shining a torch at a hippo or flying over a field of boiling lava in Hawaii.
But it is the small things that I find fascinating: the smiling Argentine family suddenly making a serious face because a camera is pointing at them, or the three Soviet women with tanned, crinkly old faces sitting down with a sickle in one hand and a cornetto ice cream in the other.
I would encourage everyone to travel more. Do it now, not someday in the future, which might never happen.
I hope my blogs will provide information and knowledge so you can travel safely and confidently. Then, when you get old, you will have lovely memories to treasure and adventurous stories to tell your family and friends.
I used to travel with my husband and four children, but now only the youngest comes with us.
We stay in all sorts of accommodations, including youth hostels, tents, motorhomes (RVs), ships, underground hotels, igloos, trains, cheap budget hotels, and eye-watering 5-star hotels. We have been to over 80 countries worldwide and gained a lot of experience, which I would like to pass on. I write the blog posts, and my husband is the technical wizard.
So, start saving your pennies now, do your research while waiting, and we can swap holiday stories together very soon.
